Yoga as Therapy

Join Maureen for trauma informed yoga classes integrated with Somatic Experiencing and DBT skills. Each week participants will strengthen, lengthen, and relax muscles through restorative, yin, and flow yoga. Somatic Experiencing and DBT techniques will be introduced and explored to learn how to identify, experience, and manage thoughts, sensations, and emotions effectively on and off the mat.

Open Door Center for Change Book Club

Join Maureen as we read various books to launch discussions and explore skills to learn and integrate lifestyle practices for our minds and bodies to manage symptoms of anxiety, regulate mood, and create a felt sense of overall wellness.  

Supportive DBT and Somatic Experiencing skills may be taught and integrated throughout the sessions for distress tolerance and emotional regulation as members participate in daily/weekly exercises.

Fiber Arts Social Group

This group will seek to promote positive social interactions to increase brain health. Engaging in knitting, crocheting, and other fiber arts around others provides a unique opportunity to have discussions with people who share a hobby/interest.

Supportive DBT skills may be taught and integrated throughout the sessions for interpersonal effectiveness as members participate in weekly group discussions.
